Medical Billing Manager / Revenue Cycle Manager Location: Metairie, Louisiana Position: Full-time, on-site Remote work: This is not a remote or work-from-home position. Position Summary Seeking an experienced Medical Billing Manager / Revenue Cycle Manager to lead our in-house billing department. This position requires more than strong medical billing skills. We are looking for a hands-on leader who can manage people, monitor performance, establish accountability, analyze revenue-cycle data, and provide meaningful reports to leadership. This is a working manager position . The Billing Manager will supervise a team of approximately two to three billing employees while also maintaining direct responsibility for assigned portions of the billing and collections process. Key Responsibilities Lead, supervise, train, and support the billing team. Assign responsibilities and ensure that work is completed accurately and on time. Participate directly in day-to-day billing, collections, accounts receivable, or denial-management activities. Monitor the entire revenue cycle, from claim submission through final payment. Establish and track departmental metrics and key performance indicators. Prepare regular reports for leadership showing billing performance, trends, and areas requiring attention. Monitor accounts receivable aging, claim-submission timeliness, clean-claim rates, denial rates, payment posting, and collection performance. Identify recurring denials, underpayments, workflow problems, and lost-revenue opportunities. Develop corrective action plans and follow through until problems are resolved. Hold team members accountable for productivity, accuracy, and timely follow-up. Review payer issues and escal... unresolved problems appropriately. Maintain effective billing workflows, written procedures, and internal controls. Work collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, front-desk employees, management, and outside vendors. Help ensure compliance with payer requirements and applicable billing regulations. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced medical billing professional who has successfully progressed into a genuine leadership role. This person should be comfortable both managing a department and personally working assigned accounts or functions within the revenue cycle. A strong biller without proven leadership, reporting, and performance-management experience will not be the right fit for this position. Required Qualifications Significant experience in medical billing, collections, or revenue-cycle management. Prior experience supervising or leading a medical billing team. Thorough understanding of the complete physician-practice revenue cycle. Demonstrated ability to track KPIs, analyze results, and produce useful management reports. Strong knowledge of claim submission, payment posting, denials, appeals, accounts receivable follow-up, and payer requirements. Ability to identify problems, determine their causes, and implement lasting solutions. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and follow-through. Ability to manage employees professionally and hold them accountable. Proficiency with practice-management systems, electronic health records, clearinghouses, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools. Ability and willingness to work full-time at our Metairie office. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing billing for a multi-provider medical practice. Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, Medicare Advantage, and Workers’ Compensation billing. Experience with Modernizing Medicine and TriZetto. Experience creating dashboards, monthly revenue-cycle reports, or provider-level performance reports. Knowledge of podiatry or surgical billing is helpful but not required. Denials and aging accounts receive consistent follow-up. Team members understand their responsibilities and meet defined expectations. Problems are identified and corrected before they become significant. Leadership receives accurate, timely, and actionable reports. Department performance improves based on measurable results. Work Location This is a full-time, on-site position in Metairie, Louisiana . It is not eligible for remote or work-from-home arrangements.
