This role functions as both a supervisor and active dispatcher, ensuring efficient system performance, real-time decision-making, and effective coordination of ambulance resources./ppKey Responsibilities/pulliProvide real-time supervision of communications center operations during assigned shifts/liliAnswer and process emergency (911) and non-emergency (IFT) calls/liliDispatch ALS, BLS, and wheelchair transport resources/liliUtilize Zoll RescueNet CAD or similar systems/liliMaintain system status awareness and hospital coordination/liliSupport dispatch staff during escalated incidents/liliEnsure accurate, real-time documentation/liliPerform active dispatch duties as needed/liliSupport training and quality improvement initiatives/liliComply with all company policies and maintain attendance/li/ulpEducation/pulliHigh school diploma or GED equivalent./li/ulpLicensure, Certification, Registration/pulliEMD Certification/liliCPR Certification/lili911 Certification/liliTelecommunicator Certification/liliAll may be obtained internally upon hire/li/ulpExperience/pulli2-3 years EMS Dispatch or Public Safety Communications experience/liliSupervisory or lead experience preferred./liliExperience with CAD systems required/liliStrong proficiency with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications preferred./li/ulpKnowledge, Skills and Abilities/pulliExcellent verbal communication skills both verbally and in writing; ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions./liliAdvanced computer proficiency/liliAbility to exercise sound judgment and decision making./liliLeadership and team support ability/liliKnowledge of medical terminology preferred, not required./liliAbility to work in fast-paced environment and multi-task/liliAbility to work well independently and within a team setting/li/ulpRequirements/pulliAvailability for all shifts including Day, Evening, Overnight, Weekends and Holidays./liliAbility to function in a dual supervisory / dispatch role/liliAbility to meet the essential duties and physical, mental and sensory requirements of the position at all times./liliComply with UDS drug screening at any and all times/liliSatisfactory background check and MA CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information), verification required annually./li/ulpPhysical, Mental and Sensory Requirements/pulliAbility to hear various frequencies, distinguish sounds and work in environment with consistent background noise./liliConsistent close eye work and clear vision for screens, color/depth perception, and peripheral vision for data analysis and monitoring./liliClear, concise verbal communication, potentially shouting or speaking loudly over noise, and active listening./liliFine finger dexterity, repetitive wrist motion regarding computers and dispatch terminal work for prolonged time periods.
