In this position, you will assist a student with a broken leg who requires support navigating the school campus in a wheelchair. An attentive and compassionate approach will be vital as you provide both physical and personal care to promote a positive, inclusive school experience.

Key Qualifications:

• Previous paraprofessional experience working in a school setting preferred
• Must be fully onboarded and ready to begin promptly
• Ability to safely assist with mobility and wheelchair transfers
• Comfort providing toileting assistance to a student with mobility limitations
• Patient, reliable, and skilled at building rapport with students and staff
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Primary Duties:

• Support the student as they navigate the school building, ensuring timely arrival to classes and activities
• Assist with transitioning in and out of the wheelchair as needed
• Provide toileting support in a respectful and hygienic manner
• Monitor and encourage the student’s participation in classroom activities
• Maintain clear communication with teachers and caregivers regarding daily progress and needs
