Account Manager – Industrial Machinery / Technical Sales Location: Elk Grove Village, IL Territory: Illinois & Indiana Salary: $60,000–$80,000 Travel: Up to 50–75% Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to drive new business development and expand existing customer relationships within the Illinois and Indiana markets. This is a hands‑on outside sales role focused on industrial machinery, machine tools, automation equipment, inspection systems, and related manufacturing solutions . The ideal candidate has a strong B2B sales background, enjoys developing new customers, and is comfortable using a consultative and technically oriented sales approach. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue, profit, and growth objectives. Generate new business through prospecting, cold calling, customer visits, networking, trade shows, and referrals. Develop and expand relationships with customers, distributors, vendors, manufacturers, and other business partners. Manage the full sales cycle from opportunity identification and qualification through proposals, negotiations, closing, and follow‑up. Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide sales forecasts and activity reports. Monitor customer needs, competitors, market conditions, and industry trends to identify new opportunities. Represent the organization at customer meetings, trade shows, industry events, and product demonstrations. Provide guidance and support to sales personnel and distribution partners. Qualifications 3+ years of successful B2B outside sales experience preferred, particularly in industrial machinery, machine tools, manufacturing equipment, or technical products. Proven ability to develop new business and achieve sales objectives. Experience managing customer, distributor, vendor, or other business relationships. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mechanical Engineering, Marketing, or a related field preferred; relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Strong prospecting, presentation, negotiation, closing, and account-management skills. Experience with machine tools, CNC, industrial machinery, capital equipment, manufacturing equipment, or automation strongly preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
