Substitute CustodianOceanport Public School District – Vacancy Qualifications: Ability to read and write English. General knowledge of cleaning and sanitary methods. Essential Duties: The Custodian has the duties and responsibilities commonly associated with this position, including (but not limited to) the following, which are performed directly or through the proper delegation of authority, within the framework of the general laws of New Jersey, the regulations of the NJ State Department of Education, and the policies and rules of the Oceanport School District, all of which he/she is expected to be familiar.General Duties and Responsibilities:Sweep classrooms, corridors, cafeteria, and gymnasium floorsMop floors in designated areasClean restrooms and locker roomsWash and clean windowsDust and wax furnitureRemove marks from wallsDust light fixturesStrip and wax floors (as assigned)Empty trash cans and prepare for disposalRemove litter and debris from school groundsPerform other duties as assigned by the Head Custodian, Superintendent of Schools, or School Business AdministratorOceanport is an Equal Opportunity Employer; all eligible persons are encouraged to apply.
