This role involves developing efficient machining processes, selecting tooling, and ensuring part quality meets customer and industry standards. The Senior Programmer collaborates with machinists, engineers, and quality teams to drive productivity, reduce cycle times, and continuously improve manufacturing efficiency./ph3Key Responsibilities/h3ullistrongProgramming Process Development/strong ulliDevelop, proof, and optimize CNC lathe programs for complex parts, including multi-axis and live tooling applications./liliInterpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GDT requirements to create accurate machining strategies./liliSelect cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and work holding methods to maximize efficiency and part quality./liliOptimize programs for reduced cycle times, improved tool life, and consistent quality./li/ul/lilistrongCollaboration Support/strong ulliPartner with setup technicians and machinists to ensure successful program implementation./liliProvide technical guidance and training for operators and junior programmers./liliWork closely with engineering and quality control to resolve machining and dimensional issues./li/ul/lilistrongQuality Compliance/strong ulliEnsure all programs and processes comply with ISO, AS9100, and customer requirements./liliConduct first article inspections (FAI) support and revise programs as needed./liliMaintain accurate documentation of programs, process sheets, and tool lists./li/ul/lilistrongContinuous Improvement/strong ulliEvaluate and recommend new tooling, software, and machining techniques./liliParticipate in Lean Manufacturing, cycle time reduction, and process improvement initiatives./liliTroubleshoot machine, tooling, and program issues to minimize downtime./li/ul/li/ulpstrongWork Environment/strong/pulliPrimarily shop-floor based with some office/computer work for programming./liliStandard business hours with occasional overtime to support production needs./li/ulpstrongQualifications:/strong/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or apprenticeship preferred/lili7+ years of CNC lathe programming experience in a precision machining environment/liliStrong proficiency in G-code programming and CAM software (Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or equivalent)./liliExperience with multi-axis lathes and live tooling./liliAbility to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GDT./liliStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail./li/ulpstrongPreferred:/strong/pulliExperience in aerospace, medical device, or defense machining./liliKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methods./liliFamiliarity with MRP/ERP systems for manufacturing process management./li/ul/div
