This role ensures machines are properly tooled, programmed, and aligned to produce precision parts that meet quality standards and production schedules. The technician works closely with machinists, programmers, and quality inspectors to support efficient operations in the machine shop./ph3Key Responsibilities/h3ullistrongMachine Setup Preparation/strong ulliSet up CNC lathes for production, including tooling selection, fixture installation, and offsets./liliLoad and verify CNC programs, making adjustments as needed for accuracy./liliPerform inspections to verify setup and ensure compliance with specifications./liliRead and understand blueprints/li/ul/lilistrongProduction Support/strong ulliAssist operators in understanding and running setups efficiently./liliTroubleshoot setup-related issues, including tool wear, program edits, and machine performance./liliEnsure machines are optimized for efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability./li/ul/lilistrongQuality Documentation/strong ulliVerify parts meet customer and company quality standards using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)./liliDocument setup sheets and maintain records for repeat jobs./liliFollow company and industry quality standards such as ISO/AS9100./li/ul/lilistrongMaintenance Safety/strong ulliMaintain cleanliness and organization of setup tools and workstations./liliPerform basic machine maintenance during setups, such as checking lubrication and coolant levels./liliFollow safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times./li/ul/lilistrongCollaboration/strong ulliWork with programmers and engineers to refine setups for improved cycle times and quality./liliProvide feedback on tooling, fixtures, and programs to enhance future setups./liliAssist in training operators and junior machinists on proper setup procedures./li/ul/li/ulpstrongWork Environment/strong/pulliMachine shop floor environment with exposure to noise, oils, and metal shavings./liliRequires standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs./liliStandard shifts with overtime as needed to meet production requirements./li/ulpRequirements/ppstrongRequired:/strong/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent./lili3+ years of CNC lathe experience, with strong background in setups./liliAbility to read and interpret blueprints and machining drawings./liliProficiency with precision measuring tools./liliStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills./li/ulpstrongPreferred:/strong/pulliExperience with Fanuc or Daewoo controls./liliKnowledge of GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)./liliPrior experience in aerospace, defense, or precision machining environment./liliFamiliarity with Lean/5S practices./li/ul/div
