Treasury Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Treasury Accountant to support the organization's cash management, treasury operations, financial reporting, and banking relationships. This role is responsible for monitoring daily cash activity, preparing cash forecasts, managing bank reconciliations, supporting debt and investment accounting, and ensuring accurate treasury reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, exceptional analytical skills, and experience working in a fast-paced corporate finance environment. Key Responsibilities: Cash Management & Treasury Operations Monitor daily cash positions and ensure adequate liquidity to support business operations. Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly cash forecasts. Manage cash transfers between accounts and coordinate funding requirements. Monitor banking activity and investigate discrepancies or unusual transactions. Support the administration of bank accounts, treasury systems, and online banking platforms. Assist in managing banking relationships and related documentation. Treasury Accounting & Financial Reporting Prepare journal entries related to cash, debt, investments, interest expense, and treasury activities. Reconcile bank accounts and treasury-related balance sheet accounts. Ensure treasury transactions are properly recorded and comply with GAAP. Assist in the preparation of treasury-related financial reports and schedules. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities. Debt & Investment Management Maintain schedules for debt, credit facilities, and investment portfolios. Record and reconcile interest expense, debt payments, and investment activity. Assist with covenant reporting and compliance requirements. Support financing transactions and treasury-related projects as needed. Monitor treasury controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls over cash and banking activities. Support internal and external audit requests related to treasury operations. Ensure compliance with banking agreements, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies. Forecasting & Analysis Analyze cash flow trends and provide recommendations to improve liquidity management. Assist with working capital analysis and forecasting processes. Prepare reports on cash balances, borrowing activity, and treasury performance metrics. Partner with accounting and finance teams to support budgeting and strategic planning initiatives. Process Improvement & Systems Identify opportunities to streamline treasury processes through automation and technology. Support treasury management system (TMS) implementations, upgrades, and enhancements. Develop and maintain treasury procedures and process documentation. Recommend process improvements to strengthen controls and improve efficiency. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Accounting, Finance, FP&A, Operations, and senior leadership. Coordinate with external banking partners and financial institutions. Provide treasury support for acquisitions, financing transactions, and special projects. Serve as a resource for treasury-related inquiries across the organization. Qualifications: Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. 3+ years of accounting, treasury, corporate finance, or cash management experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and treasury accounting concepts. Experience with cash forecasting, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and financial modeling. Experience working with ERP systems and online banking platforms. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Preferred Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation or active pursuit of certification. CPA designation or CPA eligibility. Experience with Treasury Management Systems (Kyriba, GTreasury, TreasuryXpress, or similar). Experience with debt management, covenant reporting, or investment accounting.
