Accounts Payable Specialist

Client Overview: Our client is a well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to making a positive impact in the local community. They are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their Finance team in a temp‑to‑permanent opportunity. Salary/Hourly Rate: $25/hr - $30/hr Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support the Accounting department with high‑volume accounts payable processing and general accounting functions. This is an excellent temp‑to‑perm opportunity for someone with strong AP experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment. Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist: Process high-volume accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently. Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts. Perform three‑way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies. Maintain accurate AP records and documentation. Assist with general accounting tasks and month‑end close activities as needed. Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding payment inquiries. Support the Controller and Accounting team with additional finance projects. Required Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist: 2+ years of high‑volume accounts payable experience. Experience with invoice coding and three‑way matching. Bookkeeping or staff accounting experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics NAV (or similar ERP systems). Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist: Previous nonprofit accounting experience. Experience supporting general accounting functions in addition to accounts payable. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
