Specialty: Capstone Final Clinical The course facilitates the student’s transition into professional nursing through an exploration of trends and issues in professional nursing and participation in experiential‑based nursing experiences. This culminating clinical practicum focuses on refining skills in the delivery and management of nursing care within the context of legal, ethical and evidence‑based practice. Proof of COVID‑19 vaccination may be required to teach at certain clinical partner sites. In this role, the clinical instructor will: Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system and profession Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments Plan clinical experiences for and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to an individual or group of individuals Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on level of performance based on course objectives Be available for remediation of students as required or needed Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of the agency/clinical personnel Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with the student’s knowledge base, skill competency and individual learning needs Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork and other written work in a timely manner May teach didactic course content under supervision of course coordinator Keep course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns Report to the dean or assistant dean; a course coordinator will also provide direct oversight Qualifications Master's Degree in Nursing required 2+ years of direct patient care experience in the relevant clinical specialty or content area to which the faculty member is assigned, ensuring sufficient expertise to support safe, effective, and evidence‑based instruction required Excellent communication skills with high level of initiative and prudent judgment Professional nurse licensure required in the state of practice Additional Information In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $65 per hour and $97.50 per hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job‑related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
