Work Environment\n

This role is fully remote, utilizing advanced telehealth technologies that allow counselors to reach clients in the comfort of their own homes. Our regular work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, which fosters a healthy work-life balance. Key Responsibilities\n

As a Senior Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will play a critical role in our Geriatric Care Clinic by:

• Conducting thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify specific therapeutic needs and help develop individualized care plans.

• Providing individualized and group therapy sessions aimed at addressing emotional challenges related to aging, such as anxiety, sadness, and coping with loss.

• Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, including social workers, physicians, and family members, to create and implement comprehensive care strategies.

• Educating family members and caregiving staff on effective strategies for enhancing emotional well-being and advocating for clients’ needs.

• Facilitating grief counseling sessions for families navigating end-of-life issues, focusing on processing emotions and fostering resilience.

• Implementing interventions such as cognitive stimulation and mindfulness exercises to help enhance mental acuity among elderly clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on seniors dealing with a wide range of mental health issues, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, PTSD, chronic illness, and the grief associated with loss. Understanding the unique challenges and circumstances that this demographic faces is crucial to effectively meet their needs and improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.

• At least four years of recent experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.

Compensation and Benefits\n
