Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for older adults, carefully considering their unique life circumstances, cognitive abilities, and social dynamics.

• Design, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans that address a variety of geriatric psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including both individual and family therapy tailored to the needs of elderly patients.

• Collaborate effectively with geriatric psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care that addresses the holistic needs of each patient.

• Engage in crisis intervention and provide timely support during mental health emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of elderly patients.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, various treatment options, and available community resources to foster understanding and support.

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems as part of your routine.

• Actively participate in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities to continually enhance your skills and knowledge.

• Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in geriatric psychiatry to ensure the highest quality of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be the geriatric population, addressing a wide range of mental health issues that arise in older adults. This includes common challenges such as depressive disorders, anxiety, dementia-related conditions, and the stress related to aging and life transitions. You'll play a vital role in improving the mental well-being of patients at a time in their lives when they may face significant emotional and psychological hurdles.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Massachusetts.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, demonstrating strong clinical skills in geriatric mental health.

• In-depth knowledge of geriatric mental health issues and treatment modalities.

• Demonstrated experience conducting individual and family therapy for older adult clients.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on empathy and patient-centered care.

• The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with elderly patients and their families.

• Proficiency in EHR systems and basic computer applications.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 75,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
