Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN), Monday to Friday, Wayne County Clinic in Lyons, NY - Camden, NJ

Location: Lyons, New York (Wayne County, 35 miles east of Rochester). On-site at the County's outpatient mental and behavioral health clinic.

Employment Type: W-2 hourly, per diem contract, filled as one steady Monday to Friday assignment at one clinic.

Compensation: $52.00 to $58.00 per hour. Time and a half on pre-authorized overtime. Paid weekly.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, five 7.5-hour days, 37.5 hours a week. Some days may run past 5:00 PM, no more than two a week, when the clinic is open late. No overnights, weekends or holidays.

Agency Environment: County outpatient behavioral health clinic, working alongside psychiatric prescribers, therapists and care managers.

Compensation and Engagement Details

• $52.00 to $58.00 an hour. Experience sets your rate within the range; inpatient or outpatient psychiatric experience and long-acting injectable skills place you at the top. Tell us what you bring.

• Your time is protected. A confirmed day the clinic cancels two hours or less before it starts is paid for four hours. Pre-authorized overtime at time and a half.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and document oral and injectable psychiatric medications, including long-acting injectables, and support medication management.
• Monitor vital signs, metabolic screening and side effects, and keep the prescriber informed.
• Teach patients and families about their medications and treatment plans.
• Coordinate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists and care managers.
• Document in the clinic's electronic health record and respond to clinical emergencies per clinic protocol.

Required Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted New York State Registered Professional Nurse license.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program and current BLS (CPR).
• One year of recent RN experience that includes psychiatric, behavioral health or substance use treatment.
• Able to complete the New York State Department of Health Criminal History Record Check and a drug screen, and current on the clinic's required immunizations.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years in psychiatric nursing, inpatient or outpatient.
• Long-acting injectable administration and metabolic monitoring experience.
• Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing certification (PMH-BC).
