The Banquet Chef will be responsible for designing the menu, training curators, collaborating with events management, optimizing staff productivity, and stepping in to help wherever needed.What you will be doing:Ensuring all food meets the highest quality standards and is served on time.Planning the menu and designing the plating presentation for each dish.Coordinating kitchen staff and assisting them as required.Training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.Stocktaking ingredients and equipment, and placing orders as needed.Enforcing best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen.Creating new recipes as needed to regularly update the menu.Keeping track of new trends in industry.Incorporating feedback from restaurant staff and patrons to make improvements or resolve issues.What are we looking for?What you bring to the role:5+ years in a similar positionIn-depth knowledge of food principles and best practicesPassion for creating incredible food that delights and attracts guestsExcellent communication skills and leadership qualitiesAbility to thrive in a high-pressure environmentCreative, innovative thinkingExceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safetyExperience managing inventories and stocktakingAvailable to work on-call, shifts, after hours, over weekends, and on holidaysExperience managing a team of curators in a high-volume environmentCreative, with a passion for great food and excellent serviceOKANA Resort is part of Pyramid Global Hospitality, a leading hospitality company that offers career opportunities and has a steadfast commitment to putting people first.Pyramid Global Hospitality is an Equal Opportunity EmployerNote: This document describes the general nature and level of work required of people in the job.
