The Mental Health Receptionist plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth daily operations at a mental health outpatient facility. This position involves managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, handling communications, and maintaining confidential records. The receptionist supports outpatient therapy and general mental health services, managing a medium patient volume of 20-50 patients daily. Reporting directly to the Office Manager and Practice Owner, this role requires excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills to provide compassionate and efficient support in a sensitive healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist clients upon arrival in a welcoming and professional manner
• Schedule and manage appointments for outpatient therapy and general mental health services
• Handle incoming telephone, email, and in-person inquiries effectively
• Maintain accurate patient records and confidential information with discretion
• Perform data entry tasks related to appointments and patient information
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient concerns and resolving conflicts
• Manage information flow and coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers
• Protect confidentiality and privacy in compliance with healthcare regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in administrative support or similar roles
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with appointment scheduling software
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical handling of patient information
• Empathy and problem-solving skills to assist patients with diverse needs
