VISITOR INFORMATION PROGRAM ASSISTANT II - (DELEGATED)

Visitor Information Program Assistant I The Visitor Information Program Assistant I is responsible for greeting, welcoming, and assisting the traveling public with information regarding hotels, accommodations, ground and air transportation, tourist attractions, and activities. The assistant disseminates maps, brochures, and periodicals at the airport. Visitor Information Program Assistant II The Visitor Information Program Assistant II must speak a designated language in addition to English while conversing with the traveling public. In addition to the duties of the Assistant I, the Assistant II provides interpreter services as needed. Job Requirements Basic Experience Requirement: Demonstrated ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions, and a high degree of verbal skill. Experience can be from part-time/unpaid work or a high school diploma. General Experience (Level II): One (1) year of work experience that demonstrates patience, tact, and an even temper in dealing with others. Desired experience includes hospitality or customer service to the traveling public. Special Language Requirement (Level II): Must be able to speak one of the following languages in addition to English: Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, Hawaiian, Samoan, Spanish, French. Substitutions Allowed: Completion of 15 semester credit hours of accredited college coursework may substitute for six (6) months of general experience if at least 3 semester credit hours were in psychology, sociology, social work, or another behavioral science. Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance: Applicants must undergo a fingerprint-based criminal history check and have no disqualifying convictions in the past ten years. Shift Work: Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Salary $3,006 to $3,809 per month (SR‑08, Steps C - I) – LevelI. $3,194 to $4,038 per month (SR‑10, Steps C - I) – LevelII.
