Labor And Employment Attorney

A well-established law firm with more than 100 years of history is seeking a motivated Labor&Employment Attorney to join its growing L&E practice. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in California employment law and experience advising employers on a wide range of workplace issues while assisting with employment litigation and administrative proceedings. Responsibilities

• Advise employers on a broad range of California employment law matters, including wage and hour compliance, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, leave laws, and employment agreements.
• Draft, review, and revise employment-related documents, including employment agreements, severance agreements, employee handbooks, workplace policies, and other HR-related documents.
• Represent clients in litigation, arbitration, mediation, and administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Draft and update workplace policies and procedures to ensure compliance with California employment laws.
• Conduct employee and management trainings on employment law best practices and workplace compliance.
• Provide day-to-day counseling and practical legal guidance to employers on workplace issues.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to develop effective legal strategies and deliver exceptional client service.
• Stay current on developments in California and federal labor and employment law.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California State Bar.
• 3-5 years of experience practicing employment law in California.
• Strong knowledge of California employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour laws, discrimination and harassment claims, employment contracts, class actions, and PAGA matters.
• Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to client service.
