Specializations

• Home Health Aide requirements:
  • Either Active CNA or STNA certification plus 1 or more years of paid experience.
  • Or 2 or more years of paid home health experience for HHA or PCA without certification.
• DSP (Direct Support Professional) requirements:
  • Active DSP Certification from Ohio DODD plus 1 or more years of experience caring for persons with disabilities.
• Additional medication certifications, Hoyer lift experience, and specific disease-state care experience are highly desirable but not required.

Job Location & Travel

• Scio, Ohio, and surrounding areas within travel radius.
• Willingness to travel up to 30‑minute radius is required for all part‑time caregivers.
• Up to 45‑ or 60‑minute client travel radius is highly desired for part‑time and required for full‑time caregivers.

Schedule & Details

• Part‑time available for immediate start: approximately 15 hours per week.
• Required shift availability: weekdays Monday through Friday during daytime hours (7‑9 AM start / 3‑5 PM end).
• Flexible hours throughout the week and customizable start/end times are available but require consistent week‑to‑week availability.
• Additional clients/hours may become available during weekdays and weekends if full‑time schedule is desired (requires immediate start with part‑time clients, building up over 30‑60 days).

Employment Type

Part‑time (15 hours per week). Full‑time schedules may be available for aides willing to travel to adjacent and nearby counties.

Starting Pay Rate

• STNA: $16 ‑ $19 per hour
• CNA / CHHA / DSP: $15 ‑ $18 per hour
• HHA (non‑certified): $15 ‑ $16 per hour

Hourly pay is based on experience, travel, qualifications and certifications, skill specializations, employment history, references, and overall fit. Pay is processed weekly on Fridays via direct deposit.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 1+ year of verifiable experience in home care or caregiving setting.
• Successful completion of HCN's written skills test and/or competency evaluation.
• Meet or complete all training and/or certifications required by the state where services are provided.
• CPR and First Aid certifications (active/current preferred but may be obtained prior to hire date).
• Ability to perform all main physical tasks safely and regularly.
• Willingness to perform light housekeeping in addition to patient care as needed.
• Strong track record of attendance, dependability, and employment retention.
• Good interpersonal skills and compassion.
• Ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care and document notes accurately.
• Professional character traits: reliable, honest, punctual, articulate, compassionate, detail‑oriented, accountable, friendly, respectful, self‑driven, problem‑solver, compliant, confidential.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license/ID and reliable transportation.
• Consent and ability to pass a state and/or federal background check.

Preferred but Not Required

• 3‑5 years of paid experience in home health or caregiving setting.
• Paid experience with a Home Health Agency.
• Formal certification or training: STNA (or 2026 graduation date) highly preferred; CNA or CHHA encouraged.
• Specialized certification or training: DODD‑DSP, Med Certification, EMR/EHR, etc.
• EMR/EHR experience and proficiency (ContinuLink highly desirable).
• Willingness to promote Home Care Network throughout community and networks for bonuses and incentives.

General Role Summary

A successful Home Health Care Aide provides personal care services under the direction of a registered nurse or therapist. You will be assigned to specific clients by the RN or other professionals and perform services to maintain comfort and safety in their homes.

As a Home Health Aide, you will

• Deliver direct patient care and support following the established plan of care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Measure and record vital signs and other specified metrics as instructed.
• Assist with personal care tasks and activities of daily living (e.g., bathing, oral hygiene, nail & skin care, shaving, dressing).
• Perform household tasks essential to health care and living at home (e.g., meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping).
• Assist patients in taking medications under RN supervision (opening container or pill caddy, but not administering).
• Identify and report any abnormal findings or changes in patient condition.
• Help with therapy exercises under therapist supervision (e.g., range of motion, ambulation assistance).
