Job Description

Job Title: Gastroenterologist
Location: Bellingham, Washington
Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM x 5
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate : $388 - $418/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Gastroenterologist for a temporary assignment in Bellingham, Washington. These positions are 26-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Gastroenterologist:
• Provide gastroenterology services in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Perform required procedures including Colonoscopy, EGD, Flex Sig, Dilation, and General GI procedures
• See patients in a clinic setting and at a secondary clinic location nearby
• Perform rounding, admissions, and procedures as required
• Scope patients in an outpatient endoscopy center/ambulatory surgery center
• Fill outpatient hospital blocks weekly for patients not suitable for the endoscopy center
• Take 24-hour General GI call as required
• Manage an outpatient endoscopy center caseload of approximately 14-16 patients per day
• Care for adult patients 18 and older
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Maintain valid Washington State license or IMLC licensure
• Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation and charting
• Provide documentation of gastroenterology services representative of the scope and complexity of privileges requested within the previous 24 months
• If applicable, perform ERCP and/or EUS procedures and take 24-hour backup ERCP call
• Collaborate with another GI MD who is part of the practice
• Comply with COVID-19 vaccine requirements
• Complete 8 hours of non-billable orientation
• Maintain a minimum of 2 years of gastroenterology experience
