Primary Nurse Practitioner

Primary Care Nurse Practitioner needed at a top facility in Bronx, New York! -This is an onsite position, no remote option.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Takes histories, performs physical examinations, gives immunizations (as necessary) and does patient education and counseling.
• Orders appropriate lab work, draws blood for lab work if needed, and performs some lab tests such as wet prep microscopic exams.
• Prescribes treatment for minor illnesses, and consults with physician regarding medication, chronic illness and referrals when appropriate.
• Maintains legible and appropriate documentation and reviews records periodically. Does follow-up of abnormal pap smears and reportable STD s.
• Attends case conferences involving patients.
• Attends provider meetings and participates in quality improvement programs and team assignments.
• Identifies and categorizes each patient s age-specific grouping of needs, such as those infants, adolescent, or geriatric patients.

Requirements:

• M.S. degree.
• Prior experience working as a NP.
• Valid license as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
• Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally and written) preferred.
