Job Summary The Junior Payroll Coordinator supports the accurate & timely processing of weekly and biweekly payroll for 1,000+ employees across multiple states. This role maintains employee payroll records, audits time & attendance information, processes payroll adjustments, resolves discrepancies & supports company locations with payroll and onboarding inquiries. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized & able to manage confidential information while meeting strict payroll deadlines. Key Responsibilities Assist with processing weekly & biweekly payroll for 1,000+ employees across multiple states Enter & maintain employee payroll information including wage and salary changes, deductions, transfers, tax withholdings, leaves of absence & terminations Verify employee address, tax withholding & direct deposit changes for accuracy Calculate & process retroactive payments, corrections & other payroll adjustments Process stop-payment requests, direct deposit reversals & replacement checks Audit payroll registers, reconcile payroll information & resolve discrepancies Monitor employee timecards & partner with location management to correct issues prior to payroll deadlines Ensure timesheets are complete, accurate & properly approved Review time & attendance reports, payroll import files & paid time off balances for accuracy Provide payroll and time & attendance system support to company locations Audit new-hire information against onboarding documentation & resolve discrepancies prior to payroll processing Assist company locations with payroll & onboarding system questions Investigate employee and location payroll inquiries & coordinate timely resolutions Assist with liens, garnishments & exception reports in coordination with the company’s service provider Partner with Human Resources & Benefits to resolve payroll-related matters Maintain confidentiality of payroll, financial & employee information Qualifications 0–2 years of payroll, accounting or administrative experience Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word Strong attention to detail, analytical ability & organizational skills Ability to manage competing priorities & meet strict deadlines Ability to work independently & collaboratively within a team environment Ability to maintain confidentiality & appropriately handle sensitive information Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent combination of education, training & relevant experience Experience supporting a high-volume, multi-state payroll environment Experience with ADP Enterprise or a comparable payroll platform Experience processing payroll for exempt, non-exempt & union-represented employees Work Environment & Expectations Primarily office-based environment involving extensive computer, payroll system & administrative work.
