POSITION: Anticipated Education Program Assistant at Turning Point Academy (Twelve (12) Month Position) START DATE: July 1, 2026 - Pending Criminal History Clearance

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains all educational records on students in the Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center
• Develops student folders
• Establishes a working rapport with LEAs in order to send/receive records
• Sends discharge reports to LEAs and JJC within 48 hours of student discharge
• Processes course assignments and report cards every marking period
• Assessment of Social Service intakes and processes the educational intakes for all students admitted into JDC
• Maintains student register daily and sends to JJC monthly
• Orders supplies for school, office and teachers
• Supports principal and CST in all paperwork and records
• Communicates with teachers to ensure course corrections, and grades
• Training support for other JDCs
• Maintains and constantly updates contacts binder
• Documents every correspondence by phone/email/in-person in education file
• Flags files for need or change in grade/course assignment
• Maintains flow of admissions and discharges as students are being admitted, transferred and discharged from JDC
• Organizes calendar and meetings for education staff in office

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma
• Successful experience working in a modern office using up-to-date practices and methods of organization
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Ability to establish and follow through on effective office practices and rules
• Maintain records and files for effective retrieval
• Successful experience in delegating assignments, with good follow-up, to other secretarial/clerk personnel

EVALUATION: Performance and Evaluation of this position will be completed by the TPA program administrator or other ESCNJ Administrator.

BENEFITS: Full-time staff are eligible for Medical, Prescription, and Dental Benefits. Pension system enrollment varies by position and certification. Vacation, Sick, Personal and Bereavement Days are included. MINIMUM SALARY : $50,000
