Overview University Correctional Health Care (UCHC), operating within Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, provides physical, mental health, dental, and sex offender treatment services to individuals involved in the criminal justice system in New Jersey. Rutgers University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) is seeking a Regional Scheduler for the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility in Clinton, NJ. The Regional Scheduler processes all consultation requests and related documentation for the facility and works closely with the Statewide Ombudsperson on concerns elevated to the state level. Responsibilities Investigates and problem‑solves issues raised by inmates, family, friends, or advocates regarding medical and/or dental treatment at the facility. Develops monthly grievance reports. Monitors, reviews, and maintains the Inmate Eligibility System to ensure the data is accurate and up‑to‑date daily. Follows up on discharge planning with attending physicians and the Site Medical Director. Works closely with CMS physician advisors and the Medical Directors Council to update and maintain policies according to industry standards. Maintains daily work logs that summarize activity for monthly and yearly reports. Qualifications High school graduate required. Minimum of three (3) years of medical office or hospital experience, including medical records clerical duties. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Valid driver’s license required; must have own vehicle or alternative means of transportation between sites. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Benefits Medical, prescription drug, and dental coverage. Full onsite work arrangement. 40‑hour work week, day shift. Grade: 147. Salary Range: $21,940 – $23,110 annually. FLSA: Nonexempt. Union: Teamsters 97.
