Labor And Delivery Nurse – Obstetrics

Shift: 12-hour nights, 18:45–07:15 - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend; minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Contract Length: 13–26 weeks

Minimum 2 years labor and delivery experience (3 years preferred for this unit) - Experience required in high-volume/higher-acuity OB units (>300 births/month)

Required Certifications: BLS (BCLS), NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced accepted)

Must be proficient in labor and delivery, sterile vaginal exams, immediate newborn care, circulating in OR for C-sections (preferred), triage of obstetrical patients, IV start/maintenance, and fetal surveillance

Charting System: Epic experience required

Provide comprehensive care to obstetrical patients during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods

Monitor patient vital signs and fetal heart rates, and respond to changes in patient conditions

Assist in labor management, including performing assessments and interventions as per protocol

Participate in delivery and care of newborns immediately post-delivery

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a high-risk environment

Orientation: 24 hours required

Up to 7 days RTO auto-approved (no holidays); no RTO during the first week; all RTO must be pre-approved; must work 2 of 3 major holidays
