Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary school setting near Arlington Heights, IL. This full-time opportunity focuses on co-teaching 5th grade in a positive, collaborative environment where your expertise will make a meaningful difference. You’ll engage with a small and manageable caseload (currently 6, possibly 7 students) alongside dedicated team members. The assignment runs from October 1, 2026, through June 2027, with 35-37 hours per week, giving you the structure and stability to focus on what matters most — student growth and success.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement is required
• Experience in co-teaching and collaborating within an inclusive elementary setting is highly valued
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Ability to foster a positive, encouraging classroom culture for 5th-grade learners
• Compassionate approach paired with strong communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-teach in a 5th-grade classroom, ensuring inclusive practices for all students
• Partner closely with general educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Develop, adapt, and execute IEPs for a caseload of 6-7 students, tracking progress and documenting student growth
• Engage in regular collaboration and communication with families to support student needs
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, and core instructional planning
• Maintain a supportive learning environment that nurtures individuality and academic achievement
