Meade Army Base A courteous, team‑oriented staff culture Responsibilities Manage and oversee the receipt, distribution, management, and loss control of all Center property and equipment; maintain expendable inventory levels, re‑order supplies, and manage distribution. Manage all accountable and expendable property acquired and assigned to the Center; record and track in the Government’s electronic system and ensure proper disposal of unusable property. Supervise all staff and Job Corps’ Work‑Based Learning students assigned to the department. Follow all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensure no manipulation of student data. Manage and oversee the authorized staff and activities of the Center property/logistics functional area. Interview, recommend for hire, discipline, recommend for termination, and evaluate employee performance in the property area; fill staff vacancies promptly. Coordinate with designated and trained property custodians to manage the Center’s accountable property program. Work directly with the federal Regional Property Officer in the management of non‑expenditure property from receipt to disposition. Conduct Center‑wide training on property procedures. Participate in weekly Triangle Meetings involving Finance, Property, and Purchasing to ensure prompt correction of vendor issues. Conduct official annual certification for accountable property. Ensure effective control of ordering, warehousing, and distribution of expendable property. Manage the receiving of all goods arriving on Center; ensure the quality and integrity of all related paperwork. Coordinate receiving activities with the Purchasing Department and other Center functional areas. Manage and conduct periodic physical inventory of all Center property and reconcile actual inventory against records. Maintain and update required property, equipment, and expandable computer inventory systems. Manage the receiving, storing, and issuing of all Center expendable materials. Oversee the training activities of students assigned to the Property/Logistics area. Manage and conduct redistribution or disposal of surplus government property as directed by the Government. Ensure compliance with all government regulations and directives related to property control. Utilize and manage the government excess property acquisition program. Motivate, empower, and require staff to perform their job responsibilities; employ sound time‑management and delegation skills; hold staff accountable for producing high‑quality work; develop staff for career progression; discipline staff that fail to meet goals. Provide required and supplemental training for new and current employees. Recognize staff accomplishments and proactively address staff performance concerns. Mentor, monitor, and model the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH. Show respect and courtesy to students and hold them accountable for their actions and behavior. Exchange ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner and contribute meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge; provide quality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested. Effectively articulate thoughts and ideas; identify problems, analyze causes, and evaluate appropriate solutions prior to recommending actions; follow up to ensure prompt action is taken and problems are corrected. Work in partnership with staff from all departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students. Accept direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager, including assignments to temporarily perform responsibilities of other departments and positions. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree or certification from an accredited or relevant certified training program or school preferred. Experience with Federal Government property and inventory requirements, warehousing, and inventory control preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. Must possess a valid in‑State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft suite of applications required. Physical requirements: sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching; ability to lift 40 pounds or assess lift load for assistance.
