• Temp to hire role
• Hybrid role with about 3 days on site.
• Must have technical accounting, enterprise level exposure, experience with complex environments and general accounting.
• Must be able to research, analysing, and resolving complex accounting matters or independently applying GAAP to non-routine transactions
• MUST - Clean credit history as reported by credit report

Job Description  

• Perform complex professional accounting work in the recording and reporting of financial transactions.
• Prepares financial statements, insurance department and other regulatory filings, and performs analyses.
• Ensures the timely and accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger for each entity. Prepares work papers, financial statements, and various reports for internal accounting and auditing.
• Researchs and analyzes fluctuations between current financial results compared to prior year, prior month, and budgeted amounts.
• Works with independent auditors and insurance department auditors to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
• Prepares insurance department quarterly and annual statements including the conversion from GAAP accounting to statutory accounting.
• Recommends changes in accounting systems and procedures.
• Assist business partners with budget activity, proper expenditure coding, document preparation, and other accounting-related activities.
• Reviews the work completed by the bookkeepers, bank reconcilers and accounts payable clerks to ensure accurate financial transactions.
• Assists in the training of technical and clerical personnel.

Job Specifications  

• Typically has the following skills or abilities:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of accounting related experience, including working in a lead and/or training capacity
• 4+ years of experience using accounting and auditing principles and practices, including GAAP and statutory accounting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in spreadsheet applications
• Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment the in performance of his/her job duties
• For roles that are remote (i.e., Work From Home (WFM)) or hybrid (i.e., partial onsite at a Client location and WFM), must demonstrate a high level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings to support effective communication and team alignment

Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is between $48.00-$52.00 per hour.
