Senior Accountant
A well-established publicly traded real estate investment trust in Irvine is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team, reporting to a Director of Accounting. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant ready to take on meaningful responsibility within a sophisticated public company environment. You will own the full cycle of financial reporting for a key segment of the portfolio, with direct exposure to SEC reporting, variance analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Own the month-end close process for an assigned portfolio, including journal entries and financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements with a focus on identifying trends and variances
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of reported figures
- Support quarterly SEC filings and external reporting deliverables
- Maintain documentation and controls in compliance with SOX requirements
- Partner with auditors and internal stakeholders to address inquiries and meet reporting deadlines
- Participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting process
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- Public company, real estate, or healthcare experience preferred
- Expert-level Excel skills
- Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines consistently
Compensation
- $105,000 to $120,000 base salary, plus generous cash incentive plan
- Hybrid schedule based out of the Irvine office
