Key Responsibilities Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring quality food, efficient service, and consistent execution across all meal periods. Lead, train, schedule, and develop culinary associates while fostering a positive and accountable team culture. Monitor food quality, presentation, portioning, and adherence to brand and company standards. Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and health department regulations. Manage kitchen purchasing, inventory, receiving, storage, and cost-control practices. Ensure proper kitchen organization, cleanliness, maintenance, and operational readiness. Collaborate with hotel and food & beverage leadership to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Analyze labor, food costs, inventory, and operational performance to achieve financial goals. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, staffing plans, and ongoing process improvements. Support menu execution, recipe compliance, and culinary innovation while maintaining operational consistency. Qualifications 3+ years of progressive culinary experience with supervisory or management responsibility in a hotel, restaurant, or related hospitality environment. Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Lead Cook, or similar culinary leadership role preferred. Hotel opening experience highly preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, menu execution, culinary team leadership, and guest service standards. Demonstrated ability to lead multiple meal periods and maintain operational excellence in a fast-paced environment. Experience with scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, inventory control, purchasing, labor management, and food cost control. ServSafe Manager Certification or the ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and food and beverage management systems, including purchasing, inventory, scheduling, and point-of-sale platforms. Excellent leadership, communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Flexible schedule with availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds. Work in hot and cold kitchen environments. Perform repetitive bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and other physical activities associated with culinary operations.
