Key Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan education certificate with School Counselor Endorsement (license/certifications must be current and included in your application)
• Prior experience as a high school academic counselor is highly desirable
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to develop and facilitate individualized academic plans
• Demonstrated commitment to student advocacy and positive educational outcomes

Responsibilities:

• Support high school students with academic planning, course selection, and post-secondary preparation
• Work with students individually and in groups to address academic and social-emotional needs
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify students who may need additional support
• Provide resources and referrals for college, career, and personal counseling
• Maintain accurate records, respect confidentiality, and adhere to school policies and ethical guidelines
