Job Summary The Ferguson Lab, within the Department of Mechanical Engineeringat CU Boulder, is seeking a temporary, undergraduate researchassistant to support an active bone research program. Who We Are The Ferguson Lab at CU Boulder What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be Primary duties center on dissecting mouse hindlimbs from a priorInternational Space Station spaceflight experiment, carefullyisolating bones and associated soft tissues following establishedprotocols. The research assistant may also perform microCT imagingof mouse bone samples, conduct biological analyses of mousetissues, and manage samples, including maintaining accurateinventories and packing and shipping tissues to externalcollaborators. What We Can Offer The hire rate for this temporary, part-time position is $20.00 perhour. What We Require Candidates must be of junior or senior standing in MechanicalEngineering, Biomedical Engineering, Integrative Physiology,Molecular/Cellular Biology, or a related major, with priorcoursework or experience in anatomy, physiology, biology, or arelated lab-based course, and prior wet lab or dissectionexperience (through coursework, prior research, orveterinary/animal care experience). The position requires strongattention to detail and the ability to follow precise, multi-stepprotocols; comfort handling animal tissue in a laboratory setting;reliability, organization, and the ability to commit to aconsistent weekly schedule; good communication skills and theability to work as part of a team; and the ability to perform dataorganization using Excel or similar tools. #J-18808-Ljbffr The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc.
