Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment on a 32-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit, known as 4 South, within an acute care hospital in New York, NY. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of patient care in a dynamic environment.

The unit manages an average daily census of 17-22 patients, requiring comprehensive medical-surgical care with continuous telemetry monitoring. As a bedside RN, you will be supported by nursing assistants and a lightly assigned Charge Nurse, ensuring a collaborative and efficient care delivery model.

This position offers an opportunity to provide direct patient care, utilizing your clinical expertise and proficiency with Epic EHR to ensure optimal patient outcomes and contribute to a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, comprehensive bedside patient care to a diverse medical-surgical telemetry patient population.
• Monitor, assess, and interpret telemetry readings, responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and manage patient care plans in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
• Collaborate effectively with nursing assistants, charge nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (Epic).
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and clean environment for patients and staff.
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care practices.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Prior experience as a Registered Nurse in a Medical Surgical Telemetry setting.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system.
