Commercial Litigation Attorney

Established (100+ Years) Premier Firm Seeking a Commercial Litigation Attorney in Towson, Maryland!

An established law firm based in Towson, Maryland with over 100 years in practice is seeking a Commercial Litigator with 3-10 years of experience to join its team onsite with workplace flexibility. This role will focus on construction disputes, surety matters, and general commercial litigation , representing clients from initial investigation through trial and appeal.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school

• Active membership in the Maryland Bar

• Admission to the District of Columbia or Virginia Bar is a plus

• 3+ years of substantive litigation experience involving commercial, construction, or surety matters

• Substantial courtroom, deposition, discovery, and motion practice experience

• Strong legal research, analytical, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills

• Ability to manage multiple complex matters and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• experience representing contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, or sureties is strongly preferred

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior attorneys and partners

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in construction, surety, and commercial disputes from initial investigation through trial and appeal

• Draft pleadings, dispositive and non-dispositive motions, discovery requests and responses, briefs, and legal memoranda

• Conduct and defend depositions involving parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses

• Manage written discovery, document review, case strategy, and litigation deadlines

• Appear in state and federal courts for hearings, conferences, motions, and trials

• Provide strategic legal counsel regarding risk, dispute resolution, and litigation objectives

• Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings

• Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments, strategy, budgets, and expected outcomes

• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys while independently managing assigned matters

• Support client development efforts and cultivate long-term professional relationships
