Our organization is in search of a full-time Chief of Vascular Surgery at a prominent medical center located in Riverhead, NY. Previous experience in a leadership role is highly desirable.

This is a remarkable chance to spearhead and expand a Vascular Surgery service line catering to the East End of Long Island. The selected candidate will manage a collaborative atmosphere alongside skilled surgical professionals and advanced practice providers.

Position Responsibilities

The chosen candidate will be responsible for:

• Providing leadership and oversight for the Vascular Surgery division, which includes clinical operations, staffing, and program development.

• Maintaining an active clinical practice that encompasses both open and endovascular procedures.

• Fostering engagement, alignment, and collaboration with referring physicians and other clinical departments throughout the health system.

• Leading initiatives aimed at enhancing quality, patient safety, operational excellence, and program development.

• Driving departmental growth through strategic planning, recruitment, and the expansion of service lines.

• Collaborating with hospital and system leadership on administrative, financial, and operational priorities.

• Encouraging a culture of professionalism, teamwork, diversity, and physician engagement.

Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• An MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.

• Board Certification in Vascular Surgery.

• Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in New York State.

• Proven leadership experience within an academic or clinically integrated health system.

• A strong record of clinical excellence, physician engagement, and program development.

• Experience in both open and minimally invasive/endovascular techniques.

About the Medical Center

The medical center is a vibrant, expanding 144-bed acute care facility situated in Riverhead, NY, serving the East End of Long Island. Recently, it has established a cranial neurosurgical program to complement its spine program and has introduced a newly constructed interventional radiology suite equipped with cutting-edge technology. Currently recognized as an American College of Surgeons Trauma Level III Center, there are plans to elevate this status to Level II within the next 24 months. This facility was the first community hospital in the region to provide critically ill and injured patients with Continuous Venovenous Hemodialysis (CVVHD) and has recently added a biplane room to support neurointerventional and vascular procedures.
