Director of Business Development

Jackson Physician Search, LLC

Essential Functions & Basic Duties Participates with senior leadership to develop strategic goals and objectives. Provide input and/or feedback to team members to improve performance. Receive escalated client calls and handle them appropriately. Proactively research and source potential new business leads over the phone and email. Schedule in-person meetings and present our physician recruiting services to decision makers (C‑Suite). Develop and maintain working relationships with current and prospective clients. Negotiate and close sales contracts, with a focus on new business. Partner with recruiting teams to manage client relationships and match physicians with defined needs. Make recommendations regarding service and relay customer feedback. Promote services at trade shows. 35‑50% regional travel within a multi‑state territory. Achieve monthly and annual search production goals. Qualifications 5+ years of outside solution sales experience, or 3+ years in healthcare staffing sales. 1+ year of experience managing a team preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Proven success in securing new business within assigned territory. Proven success in confidently presenting services to clients. Stable employment history with verifiable references. Valid driver’s license and no major driving violations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to build and maintain business relationships with clients. Ability to handle escalated client calls appropriately, professionally, and calmly. Professionalism and confidence to effectively communicate with medical professionals and hospital executives. Ability to produce results in a high‑pressure, time‑sensitive, deadline‑driven environment. Ability to oversee, mentor, and delegate to subordinates. Ability to accurately project individual and team performance. Ability to demonstrate good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining optimal solutions. Ability to work on issues of a diverse scope where the analysis requires an evaluation of business needs. Ability to engage in sustained concentration. Excellent prospecting, cold calling, face‑to‑face presentation, and closing skills. Interpersonal, strategic communication, and relationship‑building skills required. Strong organizational and computer skills required; CRM proficiency a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent time management skills. Ability to multitask and complete work while traveling. Ability to multitask in a time‑sensitive environment. Excellent problem‑solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Gathers, analyzes, interprets, and presents relevant data to clients to help them make better decisions. Advises or makes recommendations or suggestions to clients to conduct searches and fill healthcare facility staffing needs. Resolves associate and client issues in creative ways where the analysis of data requires evaluation and innovation. Engages with clients via phone, email, and/or text on a regular basis and is able to compile and provide verbal and written confirmations of information. Travel Requirements & Working Conditions 35‑50% travel required. This position is full‑time (40 hours per week). Work schedule may require evenings or weekend hours as needed. Regular office presence is required; a hybrid schedule is available with a minimum of 4 days in office. Must be able to communicate accurately for up to 6‑8 hours per day, engage with co‑workers and clients via phone, email or text, and provide verbal and written confirmations. Review emails, web pages, reports, presentations and other items virtually or in person up to 8 hours per day. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
