Rome, NYDescriptionAssured Information Security (AIS) has an opening for a Software Engineer II to join our team in Rome, NY. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years professional software engineering experience. This is an onsite position supporting our Trusted Systems team, where you will contribute to research, engineering design, and the development of innovative software solutions.*This is an onsite position located in Rome, NY and requires an active Secret clearance* Position is contingent upon contract award What You'll Do:Develop, debug, and test different software solutions with oversight from senior technical staffWork effectively within a Linux-based development environmentWork with senior engineers to design and develop softwareContribute to an agile environment with an integrated team of developers, testers, and investigatorsContribute to technical documentationParticipate in code and design reviews with oversight from senior technical staffEffective task decomposition and level of effort estimation over narrow software and system spaceEducation/Experience/Skillset Required:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field of study, and 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience with C/C++ or RustExperience with Python, Bash or other scripting languagesExperience working in a Linux environmentKnowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) conceptsStrong foundation in operating systems, data structures and programming fundamentalsFamiliarity with virtualization / containerization (e.g., docker, KVM, VirtualBox, Xen)Ability to understand and describe technical software systemsSecurity Clearance: Active Secret clearanceTravel: Less than 10% AA / Disability / VeteranUS Salary Range: $92,000 - $142,000The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience.
