Responsibilities

Empower AI is searching for a fast, efficient and detail oriented Sr. Accounting Associate to join our team! This is a hybrid position requiring two days a week in the Reston, Virginia office.Will prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity while ensuring accurate account balances and the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.Support external audit activities by preparing schedules, reconciling data, and providing documentation for DCAA audits, financial statement audits, and annual Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS). Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal control processes. Assist with the preparation of tax-related schedules and supporting documentation to facilitate compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.

9. Washington Filing - Pay Sales and Use Tax
10. Sweep entry - JE
11. Wells Fargo Loan Fee - VP
12. Revolver Interest - VP
13. Reconcile Bank Statements
14. Deposit of checks
15. Capital Equipment Leases - Recurring JE
16. Debt Issue Cost Amortization - Recurring JE
17. Fixed Assets/Depreciation Entry
18. Direct Depreciation reclass
19. Indirect Depreciation reclass
20. Impairment Reclass
21. NCRED Reserve Entry
22. AR Suspense account check
23. Post Invoices that are available
24. Verify all customer invoices in 'Completed" status
25. E-mail cash receipt reports to Sue Dobyns
26. Post all cash receipts
27. Unbilled reclass
28. Rent Invoice Other closing tasks
29. Audit data gathering

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• 5 years of experience
• Must have public accounting experience (such as: BDO, RSM, Cohn Reznick, GT, KPMG, PWC, Deloitte, EY)
• Must have govcon experience
• Experience in Microsoft Excel

Preferred:

• CPA or CPA track
• Private Equity Experience

Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to work location, skills, experience, gov con contractual requirements, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Empower AI's total compensation package for employees.
