Patient Services Representative
Are you ready to build your career by joining a healthcare provider? If so, our client is hiring a Patient Services Representative.
Position Type:
- Contract
- 14 weeks
- 40 hours per week
Required:
- Schedule: Weekly schedule will include 1 late shift of 12pm-8:30pm, 3 shifts ranging from 7:45am-5:30pm and Saturdays alternating every 4 weeks (hours 8a-12); will leave early on Thursdays if working the Saturday to make 40 hours.
- Schedules are available 2 weeks out.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Service & Scheduling:
- Answering patient calls and handling inquiries promptly, following protocols and service standards.
- Scheduling appointments (in person or by phone), confirming details, and rescheduling or canceling as needed.
- Managing patient arrival and departure activities collecting copays, obtaining insurance cards, signatures, and referrals, and updating records in the EMR.
- Communicating wait times and patient flow to both patients and staff
- Financial & Administrative Tasks:
- Verifying patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefits
- Obtaining pre-authorizations, referrals, and coordinating benefits
- Regulatory & Compliance:
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and safety
- Customer Experience:
- Anticipating patient needs and resolving issues promptly
- Building positive relationships with patients, visitors, and staff
