MHE Training Supervisor 1st Shift

Shift: 1st Shift: Monday - Friday / 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM Compensation: $65-$75k annual Location: 1701 Normantown Rd, Romeoville, IL 60544 Job Purpose To deliver effective Material Handling Equipment (MHE) training to new and existing employees at RJW using Virtual Reality (VR) simulation systems, classroom instruction, and real-world equipment instruction. Machine types include Yale and Jungheinrich reach trucks, walkie-riders, sit‑down forklifts, and order pickers. The MHE Training Supervisor will ensure safe and efficient equipment operation across all warehouse operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct MHE operator training using classroom, hands‑on, and VR instruction for all existing and future equipment types. Supervise trainees during both classroom and live training sessions to ensure understanding and safe practices. Communicate training material clearly and effectively to a diverse workforce. Monitor trainee performance and provide constructive feedback and additional coaching as needed. Learn and operate VR training systems (setup, calibration, troubleshooting) as required. Additional Responsibilities Maintain accurate training records and documentation. Assess performance and identify skill gaps to improve training outcomes. Adjust training methods to accommodate different learning styles and experience levels. Coordinate with Safety, HR, and Operations teams to align training needs with business goals. Assist certification classes. Contact VR manufacturer about technical issues. Perform other tasks as assigned by manager. Qualifications In‑depth knowledge of Yale and Jungheinrich material handling equipment operation, warehouse logistics, and safety protocols. Ability to teach and demonstrate safe operating procedures both in‑person and in a simulated VR environment. Comfortable wearing VR equipment for extended periods. Education and Experience Required High School Diploma or GED (preferred). 3+ years of experience operating material handling equipment in a warehouse or distribution center. 1+ year of experience in training, mentoring, or supervisory role. Experience conducting training courses for material handling equipment (preferred). Experience using or implementing Virtual Reality (VR) systems in training environments (preferred). Language Skills Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English. Mathematical Skills Ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret basic statistical measures. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and determine corrective action. Computer Skills Knowledge of Business Operating Systems, Internet software, Word Processing, and Spreadsheet software. Physical Demands and Work Environment Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Operate phone systems, keyboards, and buttons. Speak in front of others and communicate clearly over the phone. Work outdoors with varying levels of noise and exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Work more than 8 hours when required and under stressful situations.
