We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a growing team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting specialist to build hands-on experience across core accounting functions while working closely with finance leadership. The role is well suited for someone who is analytical, organized, and motivated to expand their skills in a fast-paced wholesale distribution environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger activity to support daily and monthly accounting operations.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to help ensure complete and reliable financial records.
• Contribute to month-end closing activities, including reviewing balances, organizing support schedules, and assisting with financial reporting.
• Assist with sales tax processes by gathering data, reviewing transactions, and supporting compliance-related filings.
• Provide accounting support for accounts payable, employee expense reporting, and other transactional finance activities as needed.
• Analyze budget-to-actual results and help explain variances through clear documentation and reporting.
• Support audit and controller requests by preparing schedules, compiling records, and responding to routine financial inquiries.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve accuracy, maintain deadlines, and strengthen day-to-day accounting processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.• 0-3 years of accounting experience, including internship experience in an accounting or finance setting.
• Working knowledge of journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to organize, analyze, and review financial data accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in processing and reporting information.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and leadership.
• Willingness to work onsite daily in Cincinnati, Ohio.
• Experience with sales tax, accounts payable, expense reports, Prophet 21, or Avalara is a plus.
