Job Profile Summary Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, and developing curriculum support initiatives in designated subject areas and providing support for department and college initiatives. Work requires the use of technology, initiative, and resourcefulness in making decisions within widely accepted standards. This position allows eligible veterans and their spouses to claim Veterans’ Preference pursuant to Florida Statute 295 and encourages servicemembers eligible for postsecondary educational requirement waivers to apply. Applicants claiming preference must provide required documentation at the time of submitting application. Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum Experience/Training Four years of relevant experience. Experience in data analysis and reports preparation is required. Essential Functions Participates and assists in department planning, develops and organizes curriculum support materials, programs, and activities in the designated subject area(s), and coordinates with Academic Resources leadership to assess the effectiveness of tutoring support and other departmental initiatives. Assists with recruiting, interviewing, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating part‑time lab staff to provide quality tutoring and academic support services to students. Coordinates with subject‑specific faculty on developing competency‑based lab initiatives for increased student success. Assigns part‑time tutors to department initiatives and assists students with learning and core curriculum requirements to maximize student success. Provides direct tutoring to assist students with core curriculum requirements. Extracts, documents, and maintains statistical records of lab initiatives, activities, and student participation; prepares reports, graphical summaries, and presentations and provides interpretations to analyze student success. Works closely with faculty each term to schedule and conduct classroom visits and orientations on lab resources, lab requirements, and related initiatives in support of students' established curricula. Promotes academic support services during college events as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to tutor in designated subject areas. Proficiency in professional and functional standards and protocols of the position. General understanding of the college’s structure, policies, and practices. Ability to contribute in multiple related areas within the function. Expertise in understanding and following project plans, including coordination of multiple resources and activities. Understanding of and ability to coordinate interdependencies of work within the area and from outside resources. Ability to exchange information with individuals and collaborate with colleagues, including presentation skills. Advanced knowledge of computerized systems and operating environments, including Microsoft Office products and specialized computer systems. Ability to interact and effectively communicate with employee and student populations.
