Senior Level Marine Electrician

Duties and Responsibilities: Expert understanding of and ability to accomplish NAVSEA Standard Item (NSI) 009-73 requirements including inspection, testing, installation, removal, and repair of shipboard electrical cabling and electronic equipment. Cable installations include banding, boxes, connectors, equipment, penetrations, cableway, hangers, and associated components such as MCT, MCP, and Stuffing Tube opening, packing, closing, and testing. Bonding and Grounding of Electrical Equipment as per NSI 009-25 requirements, EIMB, EPISM and other Electrical MIL standards. Electrical troubleshooting using multimeters, megohmmeters and network testers. Create, finalize and submit Work Authorization Forms (WAF) and track WAF logs and tagouts. Create, finalize, submit and track Conditions Found Reports (CFR) as required. Interpret and breakdown work scope from blueprints and drawings (arrangement, block-wiring, isometric, cable routing, power, lighting, and IC system removal/installation). Electrical installation of Manual Bus Transfers (MBT), Automatic Bus Transfers (ABT), Switchboards, and Transformers. Electrical fit-up using grinders, reciprocating saws and drills. Lead multiple electrical teams in the execution of multiple electrical work items or ship alterations. Track and report job progress and budgets to the Shipboard Supervisor and/or Project Manager. Required personal tools include multimeter, hand tools, hardwire termination tools (insulated and non-insulated ratcheting crimpers, etc.). Perform all work in accordance with the established policies and procedures detailed in the Waveforce Electrical Safety Manual. Experience and Qualifications Five (5) years direct experience in shipboard electrical installation and repair services High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum age 18 years U.S. citizen Preferred Certifications NSI 009-73 Qualified Connector Fabrication Certification NSI 009-123 Qualified Fiber Optic Handling Certification Additional Requirements Must pass Waveforce Electrical pre-employment drug and background screening Must obtain government facility and/or shipyard access credentials, including a DBIDS credential Must successfully complete OSHA 10-Hour Training, Virginia Ship Repair Association (VSRA) Safety Orientation, and all required Environmental, Health and Safety orientation training after initial employment and prior to shipboard work Ability to work overtime and travel outside the Norfolk, Virginia area if required #J-18808-Ljbffr Waveforce Electrical
