Litigation Legal Assistant

A well-established and highly respected law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support a busy litigation practice in its Tampa office. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who excels at managing deadlines, coordinating complex litigation matters, and providing exceptional support to attorneys and clients. The firm has a strong preference for candidates with construction defect litigation experience, but will also consider individuals with a solid background in insurance defense litigation. What You'll Do Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation. Prepare, revise, and proofread pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and legal documents. Manage court filings through Florida's e-filing system. Coordinate attorney calendars, hearings, mediations, depositions, and client meetings. Track deadlines and maintain litigation calendars. Organize case files and document management systems. Assist with trial preparation, exhibits, hearing notebooks, and mediation materials. Communicate professionally with clients, courts, experts, opposing counsel, and vendors. What We're Looking For 3+ years of litigation legal assistant experience in a law firm environment. Experience with construction defect litigation strongly preferred. Insurance defense litigation experience will also be considered. Knowledge of Florida court procedures and e-filing requirements. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal technology platforms.
