Work Environment\n

This role is set within a remote framework, allowing you to effectively engage with students and educators from the comfort of your home while participating in school operations virtually. The position primarily involves Monday to Friday shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities to ensure consistent mental health support.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for students, taking into account personal histories and presenting concerns to accurately identify individual needs.

• Collaborate with students to develop tailored treatment plans aimed at addressing specific mental health issues and promoting their emotional health.
\n
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed therapy tailored to the unique challenges faced by students.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a supportive environment that encourages personal growth, emotional regulation, and the ability to implement effective coping strategies.

• Work alongside other mental health professionals like psychiatrists and psychologists to ensure an integrated approach to each student's care, enhancing the overall support network.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support, employing de-escalation strategies and performing necessary referrals to higher levels of care when crises arise.

• Educate students and their families on mental health issues, treatment options, and available community resources to empower them towards informed decisions.
\n
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

• Engage in multidisciplinary meetings and staff development activities that promote knowledge-sharing and collaboration across the mental health team.

• Stay informed on current laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines specific to mental health care in educational settings.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid LCSW licensure in New York State.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, ideally within a school or mental health setting.

• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and trauma-informed care approaches.

• Strong skills in performing mental health assessments, diagnosing conditions, and formulating treatment plans.

• Ability to deliver individual and group therapy sessions using a spectrum of therapeutic techniques.

• Proficiency in crisis intervention, with a calm disposition in high-stress situations.
\n
• Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport and maintain trust with students from diverse backgrounds.

• Sound judgment, ethical integrity, and respectful maintenance of professional boundaries.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer proficiency are essential.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
