Materials Buyer

Requirements 5 years of experience as a purchaser/buyer for raw materials. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field ( or HS Diploma with minimum 5+ years of experience in purchasing/buyer, procurement within a manufacturing or biotech environment). Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with long-term plans for materials after purchase. Preferred Skills & Experience Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to build structure and operational discipline in a growing manufacturing environment Hands-on experience with ERP systems, inventory management, and production planning Job Description The Materials Management Supervisor leads Purchasing and Production Planning to ensure material availability, effective production schedules, inventory control, and supplier performance, while supervising Buyers and a Planner. This role improves planning and purchasing processes to support manufacturing operations, on-time delivery, inventory optimization, cost reduction, and business growth. Responsibilities include: Lead the Purchasing and Production Planning team and establish clear priorities and accountability. Develop and execute standard purchasing and planning processes supported by KPIs and best practices. Manage production schedules and material planning to meet customer demand and inventory goals. Manage supplier performance across quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost. Drive inventory optimization and cost-reduction initiatives.
