About the Role:

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join its growing Labor & Employment practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with at least two years of employment law experience who is looking to expand their client counseling, litigation, and employment law expertise in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will advise employers and clients on a broad range of employment matters while handling litigation from discovery through trial. The role offers meaningful client interaction, exposure to complex employment issues, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide practical employment law advice under state and federal laws.
• Advise clients on employment-related policies, procedures, and workplace issues.
• Support clients and employers with Human Resources, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, recruiting, talent management, and HR compliance matters.
• Draft, review, and advise on employment-related agreements, policies, and other legal documents.
• Handle all phases of employment litigation, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, and trial.
• Conduct legal research and monitor developments in employment legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement.
• Provide proactive and strategic legal advice based on changes in employment law.
• Work closely with clients to identify legal risks and develop practical solutions.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff to effectively manage client matters.
• Organize and monitor client files, deadlines, and case activity.
• Manage multiple matters while maintaining strong attention to detail and responsiveness.
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the Labor & Employment practice.

Required Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the Tennessee Bar is preferred or required as applicable.
• Minimum 2 years of experience practicing employment law.
• Experience advising employers and clients on employment-related matters is strongly preferred.
• Experience handling employment litigation, including discovery and motion practice.
• Strong understanding of state and federal employment laws and regulations.
• Excellent analytical, research, writing, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively advocate for clients.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, competing priorities, and strict deadlines.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and staff.
• Willingness to contribute to a growing practice and take ownership of assigned matters.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and resolve issues efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Law school transcript must be submitted with the application.
