Collections Specialist

Collections Specialist – B2BWe are seeking an experienced B2B Collections Specialist to join our team in NW Houston. This role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial customer accounts, following up on outstanding balances, resolving account discrepancies, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial collections and be comfortable working in a high-volume environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of B2B customer accounts and monitor outstanding balancesPerform daily collection activities through phone calls and email correspondenceReview aging reports and prioritize collection efforts on past-due accountsResearch and resolve invoice discrepancies, short pays, deductions, and customer disputesCommunicate with customers regarding outstanding balances and payment statusReconcile customer accounts and identify unapplied or misapplied paymentsNegotiate payment arrangements and follow up on promised paymentsPartner with internal Billing, Sales, and Accounting teams to resolve account issuesMaintain accurate documentation of collection activity and customer communicationsEscalate significantly delinquent or high-risk accounts as neededAssist with month-end AR reporting and reconciliation activitiesQualifications2+ years of B2B/commercial collections experienceStrong understanding of accounts receivable and collections processesExperience managing a high-volume portfolio of business customersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong negotiation and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systemsHighly organized with strong attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesPreferred QualificationsExperience working with large commercial customer accountsExperience with customer portals and electronic payment systemsExperience resolving billing disputes and deductionsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plusWhy Choose Addison Group?Competitive Pay: We negotiate salaries using U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data to help ensure you receive fair market compensation.Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), and Life Insurance.Career Growth: Our recruiters have direct relationships with top employers, giving you access to exclusive opportunities.Personalized Support: We take the time to understand your career goals and connect you with opportunities that align with your experience.Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
