Job Description About the Role: Shiawassee Council on Aging is looking for a passionate and organized Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen operations in Durand, MI. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of seniors in our community by ensuring nutritious, quality meals are prepared and delivered with care. Responsibilities:- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including meal planning, preparation, and service for senior nutrition programs
- Supervise, schedule, and train kitchen staff and volunteers to ensure smooth and efficient workflow
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
- Monitor food inventory, place orders, and manage food costs within budget
- Ensure meals meet nutritional guidelines and dietary requirements for senior populations
- Coordinate with program staff to support meal delivery and congregate dining services
- Maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance needs as needed
- Previous experience in kitchen management, food service supervision, or a related role
- ServSafe certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and health regulations
- Experience with menu planning, inventory management, and cost control
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to serving the senior community
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
