Details Work in a Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30) with weekend requirements Weekend shifts consist of Friday and Saturday nights on a rotation every 4 weeks Estimated patient ratio of 1:1-2 Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity Uses Epic EHR system Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only) Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skills required include IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure monitoring Additional clinical skills include arterial line management, central/PICC line care, CVA/acute stroke management, EVD and ICP monitoring, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care, and traumatic brain and spinal cord injury management Experience with cardiac drip titration, continuous IV sedation, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will be screened 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor and the second from a Charge RN; coworker references not accepted Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to complex neurological and neurosurgical patients Locals accepted at the same rate Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system RTO must be submitted with the contract and limited to 7 days or less Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict credentialing timelines American Traveler Job ID P-733017.
