The Medical Assistant administers medications and immunizations, obtains vital signs, maintains inventory of appropriate supplies, and ensures safe and efficient patient flow. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Training Program preferred. Certified Medical Assistant required; successful completion of an approved certifying examination (e.g., AAMA, RMA/AMT, NCRMA, NCMA, RCMAS, CCMA, or RMA). Medical Assistant Certification required within 3 months of hire. Five or more years of specific MA experience in primary medical care may be substituted for formal training. CPR certification required on hire and recertified every two years. Two years of experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred.
